In November 2011, the Cricket Club was subject to an arson attack and the fire caused irreparable damage to the pavilion, you can read about the attack here. The club have been working hard since the attack and recently received planning permission from West Berkshire Council to develop a new pavilion that would provide much better facilities for the local area, the club and disabled cricket in the region.
Sadly, all good things come at a price, and the new pavilion is no exception, the building cost quoted to us was in excess of £210000. Our insurance didn't cover us for such an amount, so our fundraising team have been hard at work and have managed to secure funding major funding that's listed below. Most importantly you have helped us raise in excess of £17000!, that includes £10000 in online donations only since April!

By donating you will help us build a sports pavilion that will offer enhanced facilities for the local cricket and football community as well being able to offer sporting facilites for the young people of Bradfield and surrounding areas for generations to come. This photo was taken on 30th November, shortly after Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service had extinguished the flames. As you can see, the building was severely fire damaged, leaving no option but to rebuild from scratch
This fire destroyed not only the pavilion, but all the clubs equipment for both Adults and Youth Teams, our cricket net and bowling machine. Nothing could be salvaged.

The first stage of rebuilding the pavilion was to produce plans for a new building that would be fit for purpose for at least the next fifty years. We really wanted a building that would further encourage youth participation in cricket and also provide the facilities for disabled cricket
The plans, which you can see on the right provide a much more spacious and modern pavilion, an additional changing room for Young Players or Officials and disabled access throughout.

As part of our insurance agreement, the asbestos was professionally removed and the building fully demolished, leaving nothing but the concrete base the building once stood on
Now, we need to go further with the project, and to do that, we need to have funds available to pay the contractors, so we can have a new pavilion ready for the local community in 2013

Bradfield Cricket Club were hard at work washing cars last Sunday at Bradfield Village Hall.
Through the day, we raised over £1000 from kind people both buying a brick and having their car washed! We still need to raise another £40000 so we can build new facilities to benefit the local sporting community!
Helping to support the local community is really important to Bradfield Cricket Club, so we will be at the Bradfield Mayfayre. Last year, the Mayfayre raised money for over 19 worthy causes.
